About Us

Performance West Physical Therapy was founded in 1998 when Kim W. Reid, PT and Curtis B. Jolley, PT joined their physical therapy practices. The company purposefully focuses its growth on offering the public a diversity of specialty services. Today, we have clinics in four locations: Bountiful, Farmington, Clearfield, and Eden (Ogden Valley). We have eight physical therapists, with several years of skillful, clinical experience! Our abundant clinical support staff, reception, and billing teams help us provide the best care, scheduling, and billing services possible. We are here for YOU!

Kim W. Reid - PT

Areas of Focus:  Shoulder, Knee, Neck and Headaches, Foot and Ankle, Orthopedics and Sports Conditions

Kim has 25 years of experience working in physical therapy care in Post-Operative and Non-Operative Orthopedics. He graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1989, and specializes in General Orthopedic therapy with special interest in the shoulder, knee, neck and headaches. Kim is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and its Orthopedic, Sports and Private Practice Sections. Kim is married with two kids and enjoys exploring the mountains and backcountry snowmobiling.

Curtis Jolley - PT, MOMT

Areas of Focus:  Manual Therapy, Spine, Orthopedics

Curtis graduated in physical therapy from the University of Utah in 1989, and received his Masters in Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 1993. Curtis treats all orthopedic related conditions, but has a passion for spinal care and manual therapy. He has served in various board positions at the state level of the American Physical Therapy Association, and has served as Chapter President of the Utah PTA. In his free time, Curtis loves spending time with his family, golf and visiting St. George.

Tina Buchiester - PT

Areas of Focus:  Spine, Women's Health, and Aquatic Pool Therapy

Tina grew up in Slovenia, and became a ski racer for the Slovenian National Team. This lead her to the University of Utah Ski Team where she earned three individual All-American Titles and was a part of two NCAA Championship Teams. During her time at the U of U she also graduated with her degree in Physical Therapy. Tina specializes in Spine and Pelvic Disorders, Women’s Health, and Aquatic Pool Therapy. Tina loves spending time with her team of four (her husband and two kids), together they enjoy skiing, mountain biking and being outside.

Amanda Thompson - PT

Areas of Focus:  Vestibular, Balance and Fall Prevention and Treatment

Amanda graduated from the University of Utah with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, with multiple post graduate course work in balance, dizziness and fall prevention treatment. She now specializes in balance retraining, treatment of dizziness and vestibular disorders and fall prevention at PerformanceWest. Amanda is a retired runner and basketball player, but still enjoys mountain biking, cycling, skiing, boating and hiking. She loves to go camping with her husband and three kids, and spends a lot of her time serving as the ultimate soccer mom.

Trent Henderson - PT

Areas of Focus:  General Orthopedics

Trent graduated with his Masters and Doctorate in Physical Therapy UTEP in 2010, and was awarded Clinician of the Year. He joined the PerformanceWest team after graduating, and specializes in Orthopedics and Sports. Trent is the director of the Eden Clinic and the Clearfield Clinic. When not at PerformanceWest, Trent enjoys playing golf, softball, boating and spending time with his wife and three kids.

Stuart Sondrup - PT

Areas of Focus:  General Orthopedics, Industrial Physical Therapy

Stuart Sondrup graduated from the University of Utah with a doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011, publishing several papers and presenting original research on a state and national level. Stu specializes in rehab for work related injuries and the lumbar spine. As Stu attended Viewmont High School, he works closely with PerformanceWest’s high school athletic training program. Stu is also passionate about running, wood working and playing with his two children.

  • We offer the highest quality non-surgical and post-surgical orthopedic physical therapy. With many years of combined clinical experience among our physical therapists. We have the knowledge and skills to evaluate and treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, and offer a number of skilled physical therapy treatment techniques that best suits each unique patient condition (all locations).  

  • Our sports physical therapy program’s primary goal is to keep all athletes competing at the highest competitive level as safely as possible while minimizing rehabilitation time, returning them to sport sooner, and addressing all contributing factors for prevention of future recurrence. We are able to effectively do this by offering free injury assessments for all athletes within 24 hours to determine the extent of the injury, potential need for physical therapy, and/or whether medical referral is necessary. Our sports physical therapy staff incorporates expert biomechanical assessment with the most current evidence for treating athletes from all sports (all locations).

  • We offer spinal decompression/traction as part of our orthopedic program. It can be used to treat a number of back and neck conditions. Chronic low back pain, disc herniation and bulges, radiating pain in the neck or back are all problems that can benefit from the use of spinal traction/decompression. Along with a thorough evaluation to determine the source of your pain this specialized service can help to decrease your pain and get you back into the game of life, is usually covered by your insurance as part of your overall physical therapy program. (Bountiful and Clearfield/Layton locations)

  • Our sense of balance is complex and involves 3 systems: EYES, EARS and FEET. Any number of problems can occur within these systems affecting our ability to maintain balance and prevent falls. PerformanceWest offers Fall Prevention Training to help diagnosis and correct impairments or injuries to our balance system. Falls, dizziness, unsteadiness and walking difficulty can be indicators that our balance system is having problems. Falls as we age are not inevitable! They are predictable AND preventable events. The balance training and assessment that PerformanceWest provides will improve your balance confidence, enhance your walking, reduce your symptoms of unsteadiness and dizziness and get you back to living an active life!

  • Females encounter various unique health issues throughout their lifespan. Many of these conditions are preventable and/or treatable. Our Women’s Health Program incorporates skilled physical therapy treatment and education about orthopedic problems relating to pre-natal and post-partum conditions, such as back, pelvic, and nerve pain. Other diagnosis we have been able to successfully treat are chronic pelvic pain, fibromyalgia symptoms, urinary stress incontinence, and osteoporosis related conditions. (Bountiful location)

  • Our pool physical therapy program is an alternative treatment, which is often used in conjunction with conventional, land based treatment in the clinic. We offer a uniques and individualized approach to aquatic physical therapy which allows diagnosis specific treatment of various orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions. Water has unique properties of buoyancy for unloading and suppoer, resistance in all directions for strengthening and endurance training, and compression for circulation and swelling.   • Our industrial physical therapy and outreach program offers a comprehensive approach to the prevention and treatment of injuries sustained on the job. We understand your ability to remain healthy and happy at work is important to you and your employer, and is a component of your overall satisfaction and quality of life. Our program focuses on preventing injuries, and figuring out when and how injuries occur on the job. Our goal is to get you back to work as fast and safely as possible. (Bountiful location)

  • In partnership with local home health care agencies we provide home physical therapy for a variety of conditions including general weakness, post-surgical, balance and fall risks and home safety evaluations and modifications. (All Locations)
